About Us

Chelsie Carver was raised in Beals a small hard working fishing community off the coast of Maine. She attended two years of business school at University of Maine Orono before setting sail on the journey of a lifetime. From 2003-2004 Chelsie circumnavigated the world following the trade winds on a traditional square-rigged ship. Here she learned seamanship, tradition, and the dedication necessary to successfully and safely operate a vessel.

Kenny Quesenberry from Hockessin, DE grew up sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. He first learned to sail with his father on a small family owned boat. Spending his summers during high school sailing the Caribbean and obtaining dive certification. With a love for the outdoors and a great appreciation for the ocean, he pursued diving to the professional level becoming a certified PADI dive instructor.

Having a appreciation for the ocean and special interest in the traditional sailing ships Kenny and Chelsie attended Maine Martime Academy. Majoring in Marine Transportation they both graduated in 2007 with a degree in Small Vessel Operations. Both hold 100 ton master licenses and 500 ton ocean mate tickets. Since graduating they have continued to give back in keeping with maritime tradition by working with non-profit organizations teaching sail training to youth. Some of these vessels included the Tole Mour, Virginia, Harvey Gamage, Bowdoin, Picton-Castle, Elissa, Gazela Primero, and Niagara. Collectively Kenny and Chelsie have logged over 1200 days at sea and have sailed 50,000 nautical miles.
